The Ann Harris Smith Foundation was started in 2000, after Ann Harris Smith was diagnosed with Stage IV ovarian cancer. Ann and her family started the Pro-AM Charity Golf Classic in 2000, from there the golf outing has flourished and is still held every year. This years tournament will be held on July 18th at Sunnehanna Country Club.

The Rural Conference for Cancer Survivors began in 2011 at St. Francis University, DiSepio Institute for Rural Health and Wellness. It has alternated locations between the St. Francis campus and the Pitt-Johnstown campus. 2016 was the year for the first 5mile/1mile run/walk to raise ovarian cancer awareness! We feel this is an event where people of all ages can come together to run or walk with the purpose of raising awareness of ovarian cancer. The event was held in downtown Windber, Pa., with the help of the local
